Summary Meeting and Development Seminar for the International Economics and Trade English-Taught Program Held in 2024

To further enhance the teaching quality and development of the International Economics and Trade English-Taught Program, the College of Economics held its 2024 Program Summary Meeting and Development Seminar on the morning of December 27th in Meeting Room 613 of the 7th Teaching Building. Representatives from the Academic Affairs Office and the International Office of the university, along with college leadership, the program director, and all faculty teaching in the English-taught program gathered to discuss strategies for the program's advancement.

Zhang Chi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Economics, summarized and affirmed the teaching management work of the International Economics and Trade English-Taught Program in 2024. He also highlighted the difficulties and challenges encountered in teaching and student management amidst the recent increase in student enrollment. He emphasized that the program's future development requires strong support from university administration, mutual trust and active communication between the college and all teaching staff, and the continuous improvement of course quality and teaching standards. These efforts are crucial to building a stronger reputation for international education at both the college and university levels, thereby attracting high-quality students from more countries.

Speakers included Zhou Zhengzheng, Head of the International Student Management Section of the International Office; Cao Ran, Head of the First Academic Affairs Section of the Academic Affairs Office; and Professor Shen Qianling, the program director. They addressed topics such as the recruitment and daily management of international students, academic affairs management for international students, and the future direction of program development. Faculty members, including Xiao Shishun and Xia Xiaolan, actively participated in lively discussions, sharing insights from their teaching practices on classroom teaching methods, instructional content design, and classroom management techniques.
