Course Description


Entrepreneurship in China

The first aim of the course is to provide solid knowledge and cases about the entrepreneurship in China. Students are expected to learn the special fields of entrepreneurship in China. The second aim is to help students to learn and discuss a broad range of issues about entrepreneurship theoretically and empirically. Students will know the framework of entrepreneurship and the special business environment in China. We utilize lecturing plus group discussion to conduct the course.


Doing business in China

The first aim of the course is to provide solid knowledge and cases about the trade between China and other countries, especially with France. Students are expected to learn the special fields of China’s foreign trade. The second aim is to help students to learn and discuss a broad range of issues about Chinese trade theoretically and empirically. Students will know the framework of trade and the special environment for trade between China and other countries. We utilize lecturing plus group discussion to conduct the course.


Chinese Financial Market

This is an introductory course that contains different degrees of coverage of financial markets and institutions in China. The course pursues this goal in two ways. First, it shows the student that financial market in China is an exciting field because it focuses on economic phenomena that affect everyday life. Second, this course encourages the student to look at data that bear on the central issues in this field. We utilize lecturing plus group discussion to conduct the course.


The Chinese Economy

Chinese economy has achieved a continuously high growth since 1978. It attracts global attention from both the academia and the industry. This course aims to provide a comprehensive picture of Chinese economy. The course is designed to let students understand the great changes in Chinese economic reforms. Some general topic groups will be covered, including the process of State-owned Enterprises Reform, the issues in China’s saving puzzle, the China’s economic growth, the Middle-income Trap in China, Real Estate Industry, Urbanization in China and One belt and one Road.


Business Negotiation

This part of the course contains 20 sessions, each session will last 1hour, including 8sessions of lectures, 4 sessions of discussion and 8 sessions of practice. The main aim is to give students some general knowledge of negotiation in China. After completion of this part of study, students should have the knowledge of:

Cultural Patterns vs. Negotiation Patterns

How to build business relationships in China

How can a European company or businessman negotiate with a Chinese company

The process of Sino-Western business negotiation

Some tips for conducting successful business negotiations in China

We utilize lecturing, group discussion plus simulation business negotiation to conduct the course.


Chinese for Beginner

Elementary Chinese course is a language course, which helps students learn basic Chinese and is convenient for daily life in China. We utilize lecturing plus group discussion to conduct the course.


Chinese Culture and Civilization

This course is 100% percent academic. During 10 or 18 periods, the French students are supposed to know some basic ideas about China. They are encouraged to show their opinions frankly in class and the teacher is to show them the first-hand info about China. Ideas will be exchanged and critical thinking is emphasized. 3 or 4 units of the courseware are chosen from a total of 14 units (the total time is over 48 periods) for the students, according to their interests. The units that were discussed among French students in the past years are loong(龙) and Chinese Character formation, the Spring Festival, RMB banknotes, explaining Chinese culture in key words, Tibet history, and Mao Zedong, the great man and Sichuan cuisine. In the class, the teacher will first give the students some background idea about a certain topic, and then class interaction, during which, any question can be discussed.

 

Tourism Management

This course involves sustainable tourism project development, tourism destination management, tourism investment finance and sustainable tourism enterprise development. This course focuses on instructional methods, materials and curricula to help students engage in their own knowledge development.

This course focuses on the four stages of tourism management. Discussion and debate are encouraged and includes presentations.

This course focuses on helping undergraduate students understand what is tourism management and how to design tourism project.
