On the morning of May 29th, Professor Liu Hong from the University of Aberdeen visited the School of Economics and gave an academic report for teachers and students. Dean of the School of Economics Jiang Yuansheng, Vice President Wu Ping, and the heads of the Department of International Economics and Trade and the Department of Finance participated in the discussion.
Dean Jiang Yuansheng extended a warm welcome to Professor Liu Hong's arrival, introduced the basic situation of our school and our department, and expressed the good wishes for inter-university cooperation with the University of Aberdeen. Professor Liu Hong introduced the basic situation of the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and discussed with the participating teachers to reach a cooperation intention. The University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom intends to cooperate with our school to carry out 3+1, 3+1+1 master's continuous reading projects and 1+1+1 master's programs, and cooperate in academic research and scholars' visits.
In the afternoon, Professor Liu Hong gave a lecture on "The beauty of Economics and Finance" for teachers and students of the School of Economics. Professor Liu started from the case and introduced the classic theory and hypothesis of behavioral finance with the theme of “Effective stock market”. The lecture demonstrated the effectiveness of the stock market and academic sharing from the aspects of hypothesis, data collection, model demonstration, research conclusions and contributions. Nearly 300 teachers and students from the School of Economics attended the lectures. The lectures were rich in content and profound in their problems. Professor Liu Hong actively interacted with the students, and the language was humorous and won the applause of the students. Through the lecture, the students further enriched their financial knowledge and broadened their professional horizons.
